The surf capital of the sunshine coast!
The bus journey was pretty quick, especially as when we got to the rainbow bay bus stop Marc and Emily got on our bus, which we weren't expecting!
When we arrived in Noosa we said goodbye to our new years eve buddies and headed to the hostel where Rob and Jo were staying. We arrived pretty late so had a quick walk to the beach and bought a Slurpee (like slush puppie only better!).
One of our first tasks was to do a food shop. I may have already mentioned that everything (apart from sun cream) is expensive so food shopping is pretty annoying! The cost of sainsburys premium brand is the same price as value brands here which doesn't inspire us on the meal front!! We cooked a veggie Massaman curry and then played cards with Rob and Jo - 'arsehole' being the game of choice!! It's a good game and we'll teach you all when we get back! We also very randomly bumped into Emma and Chris that we met in Thailand! They were going north and were going south so it was quite random.
We quickly realised that noosa was indeed no capital of surf as surf shops were few and far between. We were looking for a board to buy as it will be cheaper than renting for 3 weeks. We spent all of our second day in Noosa looking for surf shops. We ended the day feeling pretty sad as we hadn't bought one and had missed a day which could've been spent surfing!
It was Rob and Jo's last night before we went our separate ways so we decided to beat them at cards, again!!
Determined the next day we went to the shop where we had seen a good 2nd hand board...only to find it had been sold! Emma asked if a board in a zipped up bag was for sale, the guy in the shop said someone should've picked it up already. It looked pretty good so we took it for a spin. We had an afternoon surfing and decided buy it! It looks brand new but it's second hand. A few people have stopped to chat to me about it already so that's got to be a good sign!! And no it's not pink, it plain (classic) white.
We woke up early and before going to a beach with no waves, headed for the same place as the day before. We had a pretty good afternoon and left the beach at 6pm!!
We splashed out that evening and had soup, pie and wedges! Mmmmmmmm
Brisbane next stop. Not many photos folks. Good one of a Koalo yawning!
