Our hostel in Brisbane was a 5 star hotel compared to the last one. On arrival we also had a free 'upgrade' from an 8 bed dorm to a 4 bed doom, ooh lucky us. The hostel had a pool, loads of decking and a view of the city.
We walked ourselves to Southbank which is the other side of the river and has a lagoon, a rainforest walk (!) and parks.
In the evening at the hostel we watched Angels and Demons in the movie room. It was quality! It had 5 rows of leather sofas and a huge TV at the front. We had both just finished reading Angels and Demons so we were interested so see how they'd made it into a film. We were both surprised to see that it loosely followed the book and missed out subplots and story lines!! Although Kris won't officially admit it he actually enjoyed the book more than the film! But if he admitted that it would go against his 'I hate reading' motto!
We got up early to go see the sites and found that our bad luck where everything is shut for repairs continued. The city hall, the museum, the art gallery! We ended up in Queensland museum. It would have been more interesting had we picked up a quiz and pen, but I think that was for the kids!
We had steak and chips in the evening which felt like our first proper meal in ages!
Brisbane was a cool city but without a beach, it's no use to us!! Surfers paradise next...
